I was saddened to hear of John's passing. I'd served with John for many years in An Chéad Cathlán Coisithe. John was a great colleague and a pleasure to work with. His level of physical fitness was something else to behold, if you could keep up with John on a run, you were in good shape! Having retired, I would on occasion, meet him on Croagh Patrick on "Reek Sunday", we'd catch up on old times and enjoy the moment. Sleep well John, you'll be missed. My sincere condolences to John's family at this difficult time.

Sincere condolences to all John's family and friends. He was an absolute Gentleman and only last Sunday we enjoyed the pleasure of his Company at the Newport ceili. He brought fun and laughter to everyone he met and he will be truely missed. John was taken far too soon, he was an absolute gentleman, I have many fond memories of him attending H&S meetings with me, always honest, unselfish and friendly, an example for others to follow.
