John Blyth

My deepest sympathies to Nuala, Lisa, Alan and Helen and to John's extended families on the very sad loss of John, your very dear husband and father and grandfather.

John was an absolute gentlemen and a lovely colleague in the Department of Defence. I was so shocked and sad to hear this news. John was always so full of energy and enthusiasm in work and at the many social occasions we all enjoyed in the Department of Defence. He was most of all such a devoted husband, Dad and Grandad and he shared his love of his family so happily with everyone in such a heartfelt way.

I hope your many happy memories of John will keep you all going in your great loss. John will be sadly missed by all who knew him in Defence.

John was always a warm and welcoming presence all through our years in Balally, one of the foundation stones for the special community here.
No matter where we met him... on the road, in the shops, at a Basketball match, he was gracious and interested and added life and zest to the chat and the encounter.
May he rest in peace now, his life's work done. He has left a lovely legacy.

John was a gentleman, we loved his chats on a Tuesday evening discussing the weekend game and selecting the team for the following week. His knowledge was immense and always had time to listen to others and their views. Who should we buy, why was he played in that position, John questioned all the managers and then might agree we were doing okay !

Our trips to see Liverpool play was always great fun and well scheduled. Fixture list came out and so did John little diary, all the matches enter and making sure that the trips don't clash with family events.
John will be sadly missed by all of us in the club, his wit, knowledge and smile.
