Shocked and saddened to have learned of the untimely passing of a great man.

So many memories of our friendship: from the moment we started talking in work and you made my face sore from laughing with impressions, to the last time I saw you at my wedding, you will be sorely missed JB.

Such sad news, I knew John in Dublin in the 90s and hadn't seen him in many years but have very fond memories of him. A born musician, and great company but above all a really genuine person.

So sorry to hear about Bonzo , an absolute gentleman with an infectious smile . He was just simply one of life’s good guys .

I haven’t seen Bonzo for many years but he was a really lovely genuine guy. Fond memories of many fun parties and sessions over the years. I wont forget his big beaming smile and great sense of humour.

I am saddened at the loss of such a beautiful soul. I had the privledge of getting to know John 'Bonzo' who taught my son Tadhg 'jazz bass' over many years. John recognised in Tadhg I believe his own talent and nurtured and guided his musical gift. For which I am very grateful. We had a joke in our house that Tadhg was going over for a play date with Bonzo as the supposed 30 min lesson invariably turned into a 2 hour session and then sure I'd have to have a deep and meaningful with John for at least another half hour at collection, because that is just the type of human John was. Interesting, passionate and so easy to talk to.

John was my neighbour and friend when I lived on Fort road many years ago, we shared a love of music and getting up to mischief! Later on we shared a flat in Dublin where John loved playing the guitar and listening to records. He was such a kind and gentle guy and so popular with everyone we knew. Deepest condolences to all his friends and family.
