So sorry to hear of Johnny's passing.He was a great character around the village,and a very interesting man to converse with on any subject.He was a minefield as regards sport ,not only in surrounding clubs,but in all counties.If Johnny said it,it was the truth.He will be sadly missed for his knowledge,his humour and his kindness to young and old.May his soul rest in peace.

To say Johnny was one of life's gentleman barely does the man justice. Warm, kind and compassionate, Johnny possessed humour, charm and geniality in absolute abundance. His impish grin and unparralleled ability to warm even the darkest of days were qualities that endeared him to so many and from every generation. Gowna and his native Abbeylara have lost one of its greatest and most unique of characters, the like we unfortunately will never see again. Rest in peace dear Johnny, we are all the poorer from your passing 🙏
