I’m very sad to hear of John’s passing, far too young. A gentleman and a lovely work colleague in our days in AIB Training & Developments. My sympathies to all the family.

Absolutely devastated to hear of the very sad passing of John. I had the pleasure of working alongside John at the Grange golf club. He was such a joy and inspiration to all. I would like to pass on my condolences to all his family and friends. Devastated I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye x

I have such good memories of when John would give Catriona and I a lift to school and later on when he would give me a lift to work in town. He would brighten up many a dreary early morning with his jokes and good humour. He was always a pleasure to meet and chat with at family gatherings and when we would bump into him around Ballinteer. Sincere condolences to all the bereaved Burns family members from the Cork branch of the Cosgrave family. John was always such nice company. My mother (Alice) appreciated very much how he kept in touch with her after my father (the brother of John's mother) passed away. John left us far too soon.

I am just one of many who admired John for his dedication to Grange Golf Club during the past few years when he acted as secretary when going through his dreadful illness.
I was proud to call him a friend and send sympathy to his family.
