Very sorry to hear of John's passing. I knew John from primary school in Belgrove and later St Paul's secondary school. When we were kids, he occasionally came up along with Eugene to play gaelic games with us on Seafield Avenue and St Anne's park. Condolences to all of John's family from myself and my brothers Brendan and Declan.

Sincere sympathy on the passing of John to all the family and in particular to Freda, Eugene and Barry. I remember John very well from my days when living in Seafield Road and participating in the street hurling league. May he test in peace.

John was a wonderful neighbour, so kind and considerate to my late mother Marie keeping an eye on her during Covid and making sure her garden always looked flawless! John left Malahide a wonderful legacy with the golf course he was instrumental in delivering. Thinking of you all. You have so much to be proud of in John. May he rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear about John's death. I met him last before Christmas when he was in good form. Our family and the Maras were very friendly in Clontarf - largely, I would think, due to the fact that our fathers were colleague tax inspectors. All the Mara family were wonderful people, and the family always had a most friendly collie or sheep dog! May John rest in peace with his parents and with Tim and Mary.

I’m very sorry and sad to hear of Johns passing. He was a true gentleman, did enormous great work for malahide golf club particularly transferring the club to its new wonderful location. I also had the pleasure of doing some business with John and again he was a gentleman to deal with. Sincere condolences to his wife, family and wider family. May he rest in peace. I’m sorry to miss his funeral.
