To Jane, Wendy and Bruce - my sympathy to you all at this sad time.
John was my bass colleague in Monkstown Parish Choir from 2002 until his retirement, and as a senior member of the choir, he was a joy to sing with and to learn from. We sang together in Monkstown and on various choir trips and visits to other places such as Tewkesbury and Bath, and Christchurch Cathedral Dublin. His composition the "The Kennedy Service" for Holy Communion - Gloria, Sanctus and Agnes Dei is really a beautiful piece and will be treasured and sung gratefully into the future.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news and I send my deepest sympathy to Jane and all the family. John and Jane were much valued members of our church choir for such a long time; Jane singing with us in the soprano row and John's deep bass rising from the men in back row. He also gifted us his wonderful Kennedy Service which we loved to sing and his Agnus Dei is sweetest I have ever heard. I am so glad I had the chance to tell him so.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all on the passing of John. Such a kind, thoughtful gentleman with a welcoming smile and conversation. May he rest gently now.
With deepest sadness we learn of John’s passing. Heartfelt sympathy to Jane and the rest of his family. We have missed him so much in the choir at Monkstown Parish Church and will always remember him with great fondness.
Dear Jane, Bruce, Wendy and your families, it is with deepest sympathy I learn of the passing of John. He was a lovely gentleman and a great character. I shall remember him with great fondness. Joyce Todd, Monkstown Choir.
To Jane, Wendy and Bruce - my sympathy to you all at this sad time. John was a gifted bass member of Monkstown Choir since the closing of St. John's and his beautiful composition of "The Kennedy Service" for Holy Communion - Gloria, Sanctus and Agnes Dei - has been our and our late organist's, Raymond Russel, favourite music to sing and hopefully, will continue to be into the future.
