I was in the same class as John in St. Eunans. I remember him as a welcoming and friendly lad with never a bad word to say.
I haven't met John since we finished the Leaving Cert, but the news of his passing has truly saddened me. Another fine and talented school friend has passed on.

Rest in Peace John, you showed us all how to live with suffering and still find joy in life. A true gentleman and you will be sadly missed by all your family and friends. John I didn't see you from 1973 until 2023. You were one of the good guys in St Eunans. You told me, when we met in 2023, that you had been diagnosed, it came as a shock. May you rest in peace and may your family get the strength to cope with this terrible loss. In memory of our days at St Eunans can I say RIP to one of the good guys and hopefully one day we can all get together again.
