I am absolutely shocked and saddened to hear this news … I first met John when he had his first date with Sharon in millstreet and he was always an absolute gentleman. I met with John many times in their home in ballina after Sharon’s passing when I was in mayo for work and I was always greeted with a warm smile and great chats about his family and how proud he was of all his nieces and nephews …. Sending sincere condolences to all the Carey family at this sad time … John will be a huge loss to his family his community and Connaught showjumping community …. I take some comfort that John is now reunited with his beloved Sharon x
