John Caulfield

It is with deep regret that I have only recently learnt of John's sad passing and indeed the tragic loss of your sister Maria.
Your family was an integral part of life in the Park and John was actually a second generation member of the Caulfield's who were residents from it's beginning in the early 1950s.
They were always highly regarded and whenever there was a gathering in 14 my father ( who loved a good sing song) would always ensure that John was top of the guest list to provide the "backing" on our piano.
In later years your family were very generous with their time towards my parents as indeed they were to more than a few of their neighbours.
John's passing to his well earned and eternal rest ends one of the few remaining links to a small but irreplaceable circle who were all one big family.
Thank you for the days we will remember all our lives.
May the music play on in heaven.

Ursula, Roisin and Pat, I'm so so sorry to hear of the death of your lovely dad. He was an absolute gentleman and was always a pleasure to be around. He had a deep faith that he lived out and a great sense of humour that we all enjoyed. Very difficult time for you all. Keeping you in our prayers.

May John rest in eternal peace. He will be remembered fondly and missed by many. It was a privilege to know him first at SVP and later in Killester choir. My thoughts and prayers are with his lovely family and his many friends today. I am very sorry indeed that I could not attend his funeral. God bless him.

I was so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I have lovely memories of meeting him at Scoil Uí Chonnaill and at various music events over the years, always with such warmth and pride in his family. He was a true gentleman and will be deeply missed.

Our minds are “chockablock” with the loveliest of memories from kicking ball together in Finnegan’s field with Joe, to the same trio standing shoulder to shoulder in Killester Church Choir and gathered around the piano in Mill House. Very sad to hear of the passing of lovely John. He was always so kind to us as kids and he will always be, by far, my favourite Magician. I won't be able to attend the funeral in person but will watch remotely and I am sure that St Brigids church will give him the incredible send off that he helped to give to so many before him during his time working within the church. My thoughts will continue to be with all the Caulfield clan over the coming days and weeks while they mourn the loss of their lovely Dad, father in law and Grandad. May he rest in peace and be embraced by the very missed Esme and Maria.
