Condolences to the Caulfield, Reilly and Larkin families on the passing of John.
May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to Maria, Sean and extended family on the passing of your dad. Sorry can't be there for the funeral. Rest in peace uncle John.
It is with deep regret that my brothers and I mourn the death of Johnny Caulfield. Johnny will always be remembered for his great footballing prowess and leadership qualities, as will his brothers Mickey and Tony. I had the honour of partnering Johnny in the centre half-back line in the 1953 County Minor Final, against a formidable Ballymahon team, in an encounter from which Colmcille emerged victorious. I will forever remember the ferocious defence mounted by Johnny against the opposition on that evening in Pearse Park, Longford. That year signalled the start of Johnny’s footballing heroisms with Colmcille and Longford, soon to be joined by brothers Mickey and Tony. The following years ushered us in varying directions with Johnny & Mikey sadly departing to the UK to seek their fortunes. Details of their footballing skills emerged, together with tales of devotion to the GAA. May Johnny rest in peace. May his memory, and the deeds of the Caulfield brothers continue to be a source of pride and stories for Colmcille and Longford folks, wherever they meet. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. Ben, Eugene & Paddy Lynch, Pulladoey

We extend the condolences of John to the Caulfield family. May he rest in peace.
John was a truly wonderful man. He went out of his way to help others and was the kindest of neighbours.

At the same time, you could always rely on having a great laugh with him. John had the knack of finding the funny side of every situation; the vocabulary he used to do this would leave you rolling around the floor with laughter.

John’s passion for sport meant that you had to check what match or other event was on before you phoned him. His garden was another passion to which he dedicated himself right to the end of his days.

It was a privilege to have known John and to have enjoyed his company. Balham will not be the same without him but he left his mark on everyone who knew him.

John was immensely proud of Maria and Sean; he took great joy in their respective families: Hannah, Ruby and Molly, and Steve. Like the rest of John’s family, they are lucky to belong to the Caulfield clan. Thinking of you all xx
We extend our deepest sympathy to all the Caulfield family on the passing of John. May his noble soul Rest in Peace.
