Dear John
My goodness me you’re gone …in some respects at least,
mast head..tipped…below horizon, just 3 miles for men like you and me

so glad to join your farewell ... you will.

Its desperately sad he said… it is
round here we say northern accent but as Peter speaks, close your eyes and for a moment you’re back, delighted to realise now I can discern a Bangor accent , open them ..the hands and gestures and stance, the vocal pressure and pace, its almost you .. a reminder, so close… not far.
By all accounts… by all of them … its no bad thing to have some Reid lineage in you, an advantage in and for, so many of your society of friends.
You will continue to fare well, so will they all, thanks in no small part to you.
Bon voyages John and wishing you a truly well earned rest … and peace.

Dear Jane,
It was with sadness that I learnt today of the sad passing of your dear father. Have fond memories of meeting him and your mother. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the extended Reid Family at this difficult time. Sadly I could not be with you today but my thoughts are with you.

Incredibly sorry to hear of John’s passing. Hiked with him on many occasions, over the years, through the RIYC hiking group in the winter. Delightful man to walk and chat with. Sending heartfelt condolences to all the family.
