I was dismayed to hear (from Brian McFadden) of John's death; I had been so looking forward to talking with John again when I next visited Bailieborough. My condolences to you Rena, and all your family. My father (Seán) taught John at school, and my mother (Annie Sands) taught John's father Hughie out in the old school in Drumanespick.

Following an urgent request, i happened to be in Lourdes and prayed for john and lit a candle
