I was very sad to hear of John's passing yesterday. I met him six years ago when I moved to Sandycove, he lived opposite me. We became good friends and he was always there for me if I needed help with anything. We used to have great chats and he had a mischievous sense of humour! He loved his games of golf and watching sport on television. I got to know his sister Joan over the years, they were both great company. He really loved his trip to South Africa every winter and missed it greatly during Covid. Not being able to return there again was a great regret.

I'll aways remember his smiling face and charming ways, I will miss him.

My condolences to Joan and his family. He was a brother, uncle, great uncle and friend to so many. I will light a candle for you tonight John, to guide you on your way.

Rest in Peace John, Maureen
