John was a warm gentleman with a pleasant sense of humor, we miss him so much...
We would like to send the following poem to Convoy's family:

"Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep—
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry—
I am not there,
I did not die."
By Claire Harner (1934)

We believe that we can also feel John in the new Irish trees...
I had the honour and privilege of being a tiny part in John's and Convoy family's life. Today and always, may loving memories bring you, Conboy family, strength and peace. Love and help each other as John always did.
Sincere condolences to all the family.
As a friend of Eva's I met and stayed in John's house once, I was always impressed by John's wide-ranging culture, open-mindedness and his great artistic flair, while being an understated individual.
As. John's sister in law I am deeply saddened that he is no longer with us. My sincere condolences are with his children Emmet, Eva and Aisling who loved him and demonstrated that in so many ways. John was a lovely gentle person who had a fabulous sense of humour and very dry wit When I last saw him in December of last year he was full of stories about Kinlough where I come from. May his soul rest in peace
Deepest sympathy to Selma, Elizabeth and all the Conboy family on the death of John, may he rest in peace.
Condolences to Emmet and fall on the sad loss of your Dad. May he rest in peace

I’ve never met a more caring, gentlest soul, with the brightest welcoming smile, not to forget his sense of humour and many talents, It’s been such a privilege to be part of John’s life. He will be sorely missed, Please God give the family the strength to help get them through this sad time

Rest in peace John you were one of life's true gentlemen. It was a pleasure to have known you these last few years you will be sorely missed 💔
I met John at Brindley Manor last year whilst doing an art project where we where planting a forest. John chose a Holly tree because he wanted a native evergreen. We made ceramic signs to identify each of the trees. John's designs were colourful and strikingly beautiful. I continued to work with John every month on art projects. We always had a wonderful time and he was really proud of his daughters collages. In the summer last year we painted in the garden. John looked like Monet, so at home with creativity outdoors. I'm very privileged to have met such a talented and knowledgeable person. My deepest sympathies to all his loved ones.
Condolences to Elizabeth and all of John's family. May he rest in peace.

I have many great memories of John, all the way back to the early Seventies and ever since - the occasional pint, the chat, and especially the many yarns which he greatly enjoyed, listening and retelling! He had a mischievous sense of humour!
