Losing a loved one, hurts!
In your grief, I send you a warm hug.
We are humbled by the outpouring of love, affection, respect and more for our beloved John. He fought a long hard fight without complaint. One of the many tributes said he had the 'smarts' of a Dub and developed the 'cutes' of a Kerryman, what a combination! We will miss him greatly. We will collect and save all of the messages and return to them whenever we need a lift. Thank you all for your support especially for Barbara and Joe. A special Mass will be offered for all your intentions. God Bless.

To those who John loved most and they him; wife Barbara, stepson Joe, Parents Rita and Pat, sister Ann, 'da' brothers Peter and Paul, Nieces Rachel, Ciara and Hannah, mother-in-law Bridie and all the O'Sullivan and Conneely extended families.

John loved poetry, no than the poetry of Seamus Heaney and the lines from this poem are so fitting.

So while the parish priest at his bedside
Went hammer and tongs at the prayers for the dying
And some were responding and some crying
I remembered his head bent towards my head,
His breath in mine, our fluent dipping knives—
Never closer the whole rest of our lives

Seamus would not in the slightest have minded the change of pronoun--now these two noble of men can discuss poetry in the skies above.
Deepest sympathy to Peter and all the Conneely family on the passing of your dear John. May he rest in peace .
