So sorry to hear about John's passing. He was in great form when we met him at his 80th Birthday just last year in Pat & Chris's home in Ballymahon. Such a lovely, quiet spoken gentleman who was friendly with everyone he met. Our condolences to you Fiona, Mai, Jim & Mary, Pat & Chris, and all in the extended family. May he now rest in peace in Bernie.

Our condolences to Pat, John and Mai and their families in the loss of John. I met John a few times in Dublin when I worked there many years ago. My memory of John is that he always had that big warm smile that all the Connolly's have, that immediately made you feel warm and welcome, like a big hug! He and his siblings never lost that tie to his home and to each other - a beautiful thing. I was sad to hear John was suffering. May he rest in Peace now.

Though having left Drumlea many years ago to work and live in the Dublin/Meath area, he never lost his interest in or love of Drumreilly and Leitrim and was an avid supporter of his home parish and county, returning often with his late wife Bernadette and their daughter Fiona for family celebrations, festivals or football matches and no one had any doubt where his support lay. His infectious love of Leitrim was replicated by the other members of the Connolly family, Mai, James and Pat and his late brother Benedict, as well as his sisters in law Mary and Chris
May John's green and gold soul rest easily with the Lord.
