Deepest sympathies to the O Brien family. I first got to know Johnny many years ago and we have met intermittently over the years and always exchanged pleasantries. One of lifes great characters, we are all the poorer for his passing. Rest in peace Johnny.

My sincere sympathy to all of John's family and friends. I have great memories of our younger days in Cross. A funny, colourful character back then, and I was so delighted to have met him on a few occasions in Claremorris in the not too distant past, and we had great conversations.
I would so certainly be there at his funeral if it were possible, but unfortunately I am caught up with the same here at this time. In my thoughts, memories and prayers. RIP John.

I did not know John - I didn't know of him until he died & Flyn's hurt was so deep. But, I don't believe a person's death separates them from the living. They live on each time their name is spoken, even by strangers like me.

We have known Johnny for so many years through the McNally family in Westport Always at every family gathering in the McNally house.Such a really lovely person and will be sadly missed.So sad for his family and we will think of you all during this heartbreaking time.
