John Crowley

We felt so so sad when we got news of Johns (Fizzy) passing. I first met John at Ruskin College in Oxford in 1989. We last saw him in Nottingham when he came over to plant a tree in memory of his & our great mo chara Christy. John in recent years was hard to pin down & he often fell off the radar. We once remember him sending a box of Punjana tea bags out of the blue to let us know he was OK! Fizzy was funny, witty, politically astute, a great story teller, impressionist, who expressed geat solidarity in his support of the struggle of the Palestinians. He was also an insomniac, we can see him now telling his stories into the night, while tiredness drove us to bed we & we would find him when we got up he would still be there in the morning blathering. Its hard to lose a gentle & very human soul like our Fizzy. We send our blessings to his family & all he came across, he left a huge impression on us all & we'll miss him. With our love Phil. I had the pleasure of working with John at the SHL Management Centre. It was there I found him to be a fantastic and uplifting person who made a joke of most things including writing to the BBC on my behalf unbeknowst to me trying get me
a deal for a book named Taylor's tasty treats and a TV series.
After John left SHL he remained a good friend and kept in contact with me, during intervals of time. I loved his company and the fantastic knowledge he had on most political and wordly events.
John's passing has I'm sure has come as a shock to all the Crowley family and I send my love and support to all of you in these hard times.

My wife and I met and worked with John at the SHL Management Centre, in Surrey in the 90’s where he was a member of the kitchen team. There was always intellectually stimulating conversation with John around, he was a cleaver man with a passion for educating people around him on his chosen subject.
A very likeable man, inoffensive, kind and calm in nature.
We are both very sorry to hear of Johns passing and our thoughts are with his extended family.

My deepest condolence to John’s family, from the Leacock family , so sad to hear of the news , I met John nearly 40 years ago as i lived in Wargrave Road, South Harrow , we met up so many times and had so many fun discussions at the early part of our lives, I will never forget his constant smile even in the midst of a heavy discussion.
