I, Noel, first met Johnnie in Ballybunion in '68 and then in Bolton St. College - the same architectural course. Shared a flat in Dublin then London. Worked on building sites and bin lorries. Got visas for Europe and busked our way to Copenhagen. Back to London to make horseshoe nail pendants. Johnnie went back to Wicklow, Helen and I followed later and bought a ruin to restore close by. Johnnie then moved with Annie to the West where we visited a few times.

Sorry you have passed on old friend. Will miss you but you are always in our hearts sunshine.

God take care of you and Annie.

An incredible privilege to have known this man. What a legacy he has left behind. His generosity, creativity and laugher was always so inspiring, bringing joy to everyone around him. I am filled with sadness to hear of his passing. My heart breaks for you all. My sincerest condolences

Johnny: Indeed a colourful character, a fun person and is missed by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
His humour and sense of mischief and his inquiring mind are well remembered.
As wonderful host and hostess, he and Annie enjoyed the nonsense of others and they both took us all down, deservedly, a peg or two: no point in being uppity in their company…
They both live on in our memory.

Saddened deeply to hear of Johnny's passing,I remember him well from our days as classmates in Crescent College Limerick, I called him the fashion guru but fashion is fleeting while class is eternal.My heartfelt sympathies to Johanna,Jonty and all extended families,may Johnny rest in peace with Annie.

We had some crack growing up in Fort Mary Park yourself Johnny Caffrey (rip), myself and all the gang . Wonderfull memories . RIP old pal .

Dynamic bearly describes Johnny, a man with the biggest heart, full of fun, creative, ambitious, always on to try new things. The world just won’t be the same without you Johnny. I was lucky to have been your friend. My heartfelt condolences to all of you.

My memory of Johnny and also the lovely Annie comes from working for them at the Cliffs many years ago. from the back of a van. They were both kind and generous and sad to hear of Johnny's death. I'm sure the family and friends will have many good and happy memories to hold on to.

Johnny was an example to me of enjoying life to the fullest. In their beautiful house in Lanzarote I experienced a party and also movie nights. Johnny searched for good feeling movies that we enjoyed together with friends. Of course with a glass of wine. Thank you Johnny for what you were to me. Rest in Peace.

Jonty, I am heartbroken for you. An enormous loss. He was a beautiful man. I always loved meeting him—brilliant wit, great craic, kind and generous, not to mention a total master of his craft. Dear Jonathon and Johanna and all of your family. I’m saddened to hear of the passing of your Dad. I met him on a few occasions when we would visit your shop in Clifden . He always made us feel so welcome and we would always leave feeling better than when we went in.
Take some comfort in knowing that he is with your lovely Mam.
