John (Dermot) WRIGHT

Dermot was my cousin. Second cousin, actually. I’ve known him all my life yet our paths, unfortunately, did not cross as often as I would have liked. We would gather whenever we would be over in Ireland for a vacation. I think it had been almost 20 years since I last saw Dermot. This past December I took a trip back and had an opportunity for Dermot and I to meet up. We spent time catching up and he, entertaining me with his fond childhood/teenage memories of his days as a band roadie (who knew!?), of time spent in Belfast, of Earlscourt Street, and times that our families spent together. Although a span of 20 years passed by between our meetings, it felt somewhat like old friends gathering for a weekly chat Dermot had that way about him, an easy going, friendly and warm person.. unchanged as I fondly remember him. He was (and is) & always will be, a gentle man, and a gentleman in every sense of the word.

He will be missed greatly but not forgotten.

My family’s condolences to Geraldine and Dan (and all the family). Heaven just got a bit more richer with his presence.

RIP Dermot

So sorry to hear of Dermot's passing. I remember him from our younger days when his Mom & Dad & My Parents were great pals. Sincere condolences to Geraldine & Dan & all the Family

We feel so fortunate that we met him when he came to America to visit.
We could see the love between brother and sister and of course Dan too!
