Sad news indeed, John scored the best goal I have seen in junior football when playing on the old pitch in our estate, he was a great player, a great team person and gentleman on and off the pitch. Our hearts go out to his wife and the lads at this such a sad time . Thinking of George , joker ,Martin Phil and all of his family at this time. Rest in peace auld son you will certainly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing you.

The school community held a moment of silence on Monday 18th Nov to mark the passing of John Dobbs who was caretaker in Lucan Vocational School and Lucan Community College for 17 years before he retired. John was a gentleman in the true sense of the word. He brought a sense of caring and helpfulness to his role and was always on hand to assist in an emergency. The role of 'caretaker' was made for John, as he went about his day taking care of students and staff members. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

John was so accommodating and helpful to all members of the school community, students and staff alike - he will be sorely missed.
