We were very sorry to hear of John's death. I have very fond memories of working with John on the NWHB/Donegal County Council joint fluoridation committee for many years where is quick wit and expertise greatly enriched proceedings. May he rest in peace.

Sadly I just learned of John’s death, John was my last living first cousin, his mother was my Aunt Nelly. John lived with my family in Cork City while at Dental College in UCC and my brother Boyle plus another cousin John Power were co-students at the same time.
Much to my chagrin, I was a patient/victim of all three in their early days at the college. I could have told you then that John Murray would be the most gentle.
I was delighted to get back in touch with the Murray cousins last year and speak to John about family

I will remember John for many reasons - it was his outstanding quick wit & the ability to make anyone laugh, that will always stay with me. With a turn of phrase, he could just brighten anyone’s day! John had a very keen interest in all aspects of dentistry especially in keeping a very high standard.. He was a tremendous colleague to work with and also a thorough gentleman.

I was lucky to have worked with John when I was a newly qualified dentist.
He taught by example,to be hardworking but more importantly to be careful,considerate and respectful.I admired him greatly for his hard work and genuine kindness towards his patients.
