My Dad Gerard Pascal Cronin asked me to pass on his condolences to John’s family. My Dad joined the force with John in 1953. They remained long time friends. My Dad often visited him in the nursing home. He is very upset to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.

I was privileged to have known John in my work in An Garda Siochana , our involvement in the Barr’s Senior Footballers of the 1980’s and our mutual interest of camper vans. It was such a pleasure to have know him . I got the opportunity to meet John and Kathleen, in their care home some months ago , with Denis Burns, now they are both gone to their eternal reward.
