i have the fondest memories of John from many years ago when we were both at school. Many many great conversations on walks up and down Mount Merrion Avenue. He was a great friend back then. I have thought of him often over the years and was always sorry we lost contact. My deepest condolences to the Duffy family.

I am very sad to hear of the passing away of John especially as I was talking to him few days ago.

I got to know him in the last years and on occasions we used to have long chats. He used to be very happy speaking of his past memories, family moments and especially on his grand children.

He had a great passion for Irish rugby and fond of his time at Blackrock College. Cannot forget Bruce Springsteen morning regular sessions!

Knowing John for nearly 60 years through school and life in general , we shared many good times and laughs , meeting over the years we invariably always reminisced about our schooldays and sporting experiences. As we got older our sporting achievements somehow also managed somehow to continually get better ! Fond memories of being in John’s company , always with a good story and a twinkle in his eye . Rest easy my friend . Gone but never to be forgotten.
