I was saddened to hear of the passing of John and extend my condolences to Joan, Derval, Greg, Dan and extended family. I was fortunate to have know John as a student and later as a work colleague in New Ross Vocational College and he was a major influence on my career. John believed strongly in the merits of technical education and touched the lives of many due to his work as college principal. R.I.P.

Sincere sympathy to Joan, Derval, Dan and Greg and their families on John’s death. I was lucky to have had John as my first principal when I joined the staff of VSNR in September 1973. Always an educator and a man of many interests, it was fitting that he oversaw the completion and opening of the new school, now Kennedy College in the early 80’s. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences on Johns passing. I only had John for a short time as Principal in NRVC but i got to know John better in later years at the many charity cycles he and my husband done. We used to laugh over the tea how he always had his bodyguards (sons) on either side of him. Great memories. R.I.P.

They became great friends of our family. John became "Teacher in Charge" in New Ross Vocational School because he was too young to be made Principal. They were a vibrant part of our community until John went on promotion to Wexford. Ni fheicimid a leitheid aris. May John rest in well earned peace.

Deepest condolences to John's wife and family..i was part of the first leaving cert class in new ross.
When i think of principal john i can see all the T chests full of trophies for karting on the loft in the woodwork room. He was an amazing teacher who felt more like a father figure than a teacher.
He gave us all a great foundation to build our future on..thank you john and may you rest in peace.
