We are utterly shocked to have only heard of johns passing yesterday. John was a god send to me when I lived with him in my first year of college last year . We had great chats and he was so kind and caring and made being away from home so much easier. His sense of humour always made me laugh and cheered me up. Condolences to suzanne and his son and his extended family. I will cherish my days in Castlewell always. Rest in peace John

I was so shocked and saddened to find out only today, a month later, about John’s sudden passing. He was my hairdresser for about 40 years and will be truly missed. My deepest sympathy to you Suzanne and Louis and the extended Earls family . He was such a genuine, kind, and caring man . A true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing. A lovely man and always full of chat, he cut mum's hair for years and mine when I lived in Limerick. My condolences to all the family. May he RIP.

I will never forget John's fun and smile when I was on my way to my beauty salon the next block up from he and Tony in Catherine's Street in the 80's. He and Tony would send me into work with a smile, then in 2006 we lived next door to John for 6 months in Castlewell from June to November. Being next door to John with my husband and two girls was like holiday camp. Louis used to be there also. My sincere sympathy to all John's family. To know John was to love the man. You only ever came away from an encounter with him feeling the better for it. I already miss my old friend even though I can’t quite believe he’s gone! John was kind, compassionate and with a great sense of humour.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our colleague and friend, John. John was a much loved hairdresser and a treasured member of the St. Munchin’s Community Centre family, and he will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Our thoughts are with John’s family at this very difficult time. John was always so accommodating to his clients, never short of a chat, and always in great humour. He loved a sweet treat or a cup of soup and was never far from sharing photos of Crosshaven, Cork, or proudly talking about his son Louis and his newly wed wife, Suzanne.

He will be forever remembered and missed so much by all of us at the centre.
