My thoughts go out to Francesca and everyone in the Gore-Grimes family at this difficult time of John's passing. Ar dheis Dé a anam.

We were very sad to learn of John’s death. He was a trailblazer of the Irish and International sailing community.

So sorry to hear of Johns passing, a great sailor, explorer and Gentleman. Sorry I can’t make the celebration of his life but I will have a docking tot in his honour .

Thank you John for your leadership and inspiration, you steered a kindred generation with a bold and steady hand on the helm and a light adventurous heart.

I'm sad to hear of John's death. He always seemed to be immortal; his life in sailing was an inspiration to all who voyaged or dreamt of voyaging. My condolences to the family.
