We were very fortunate to have met John when he first came to Ballinasloe. He was a wonderful person and friend who would light up any company he was in. Always up for the craic but still serious when required and was excellent at his job. He would do anything for you and ask for nothing in return. He was the "big brother" who was so proud of his brothers and sisters and then his own sons and daughter. The turnout at his funeral is a true testament to how much he was loved and respected by all. He touched so many lives and will be missed terribly. May the many memories you have with John comfort you through this time and may his memory live on the hearts who loved him. Rest in peace John. You in our thoughts and prayers.

John was such an asset to Cloonkeen. The sight of all the wonderful flowers and plants as you approached the crossroads was uplifting. Often followed by John's head poking out from some bush that was getting his attention. He always wore a smile and made time for a chat.He will be missed terribly.
