Devastated to hear of the passing of John. We became very good friends with John whilst staying in the holiday home opposite the schoolhouse in Askillaun. We watched for his car passing every day and had the chats and craic. We loved seeing his car roll up the hill! Many’s a laugh we had with him and really got to know him. It’s with sincere sadness we offer our sincere condolences to Johns sisters brothers their families and extended families on the sad and sudden passing of John.
I have the pleasure of calling John a great friend since our youth,we grew up together with just a few fields between us,it was always lovely to meet him on our visits home and great chats down at the Harbour. On my return back to live in Louisburgh two years ago after fifty years I met John more often.
It was ironic that John spent one of his last days in one of our favourite places Leenaun . Sorry that I’m unable to attend your funeral as we’re out of the country.
So sad to see another light quenched in Accony and a spare parking spot at the Harbour. John your pain is over safe journey home to your parents and siblings. Rest in peace my friend 🙏🙏🙏
