So sad to hear of the passing of Johnny. My late sister Gina and myself have fond memories of a kind gentlemen who was always, friendly and helpful to all his neighbours.

It is with deep regret that I learned of the passing of Johnny Furey and I wish to express my most sincere condolences to Johnny's son John and his family, and indeed to his surviving siblings.

Many a good Euro Johnny put in my pocket by way of a good tip for a racehorse and he loved to have a flutter on the horses himself.

I have yet to come across anybody who was as lucky as Johnny was at horse racing and he shared his unique talent and knowledge of horse racing with a chosen few only, and I was fortunate enough to be included in that category.

Johnny will be sadly missed by all who knew him, particularly by myself, but I have great memories of Johnny and the wonderful craic we had together whenever we would meet up.

Until we meet again Johnny, may your gentle soul rest in peace.

John's death is an occasion of great sadness among his neighbours and many friends. He was so much part of all our lives growing up. He was a good and faithful neighbour and a gentleman to his core. The tractor was always outside when we came home from school and we enjoyed all your jokes and stories especially the ones about " Angela", we were so convinced she existed for many years !
