First met John, 16 years ago through a mutual friend called Arthur - surname Guinness if my memory serves me right. We drank in the most upmarket establishment - The Ritz no less. I had returned from the UK and joined the Golf Club and each Friday evening John would invite me to play golf with him and Brendan O Halloran on Saturday morning. 16 years on the invitation was as strong as ever. A true gentleman and a fountain of knowledge. It has been a privilege to have known John. Sincere condolences to his beloved wife Margaret, sons Noel and Sean and extended family.
