I was in John’s class in primary in caherdavin and in secondary at nessans. He was a sharp guy particularly in Maths from what I recall and he was also particularly witty. Over the years I worked in limerick bars and often saw him around. We weren’t close but he was unfailingly sound and polite. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
