I hadn't seen John in ages, but only thought of him recently and then a friend sent on this notice, I was shocked to hear the new and sent it on to school mates who also hadn't heard. I'm sure a few will send messages here too. I don't know how John lived most of his life, because we didn't stay in touch, but I want to say that as a young fella we had some amazing laughs together and in Gormanston he played some pranks on me (and vice versa) which are still re-told again and again to this day! I wish I had had just a few minutes with him to reminisce these things. I hope his wife and family are holding up OK and just want them to know that even as a young guy he was a bright light, fun loving and a great friend.

I have just learned of johns passing today I am so shocked and saddened to hear this. We are indebted to John and his team of skilled workers for building us a fabulous home. We enjoyed the crack and banter with John and his professionalism and expertise. To Michelle and his children he spoke about you all with pride and fondness. May he rest in peace now because he worked so hard for everyone while with us all. RIP John

Whether it was playing darts in the shed, heading to The End via the Phoenix Park or driving around in his red Ford fiesta, listening to Nirvana, he always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, looking for the next piece of fun…. And so much more…. We shared so many pints of Guinness…hope you are having one where you are now… rest in peace Grimsey…..
