Saddened to learn of John’s passing. Had the pleasure of first meeting John when he was chair of the ULHG Patient Council. He was a great advocate for all patients as he strove to improve patient care across the hospitals in the Mid-West. He was passionate about this role and continued his advocacy latterly as a member of our Infection Control Committee. He was an utter gentleman and always a joy to meet. My deepest condolences to all his family as you grieve his tremendous loss. May John’s gentle soul rest in peace. 🙏

I worked alongside John in the 90's when I was an outreach worker with the PAUL Partnership. He was a gentleman who guided and taught all around him with class and good humour. His fierce advocacy for the community was inspiring. My sincere sympathy to all his family and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with John over the years as Chair of our Patient's Council in UHL. He had a wonderful ability to provide considered counsel & guidance, particularly to those who joined the Council and to our HSE staff. He was terribly kind and compassionate to those he met, enjoyed a good laugh with his big smile!
