We worked with John on a number of projects and always found him to be thoughtful, decent and highly professional.

He was also on a personal level, funny, kind and very likeable.

Our thoughts are very much with you.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the sad news just today. John was always brilliant at what he did, making mundane buildings look superb, the views always had a blue sky. Ever the gentleman to deal with, laughing hard and working hard. Thinking of you all who will miss him so much.

I am very saddened at the untimely passing of John. My sincere sympathies to his wife Grace, his daughter, sons and all his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Comhbhrón mór daoibh Gráinne, Oisín, Conor, Grace agus do chlann ar fad. Since joining the Scoil Bhríde community we have happy memories of John at the school events over the years. From celebrating An Cailín Ciúin’s Oscar nomination in Birchalls to watching him be decended upon by scores of excited children when he arrived as Santa to the Carol service in the Church last month. John looking stoic and twinkly-eyed in the middle of Christmas chaos. It was such a special evening, Conor & Oisín both played beautifully earlier on but John was rightly the star of the show. His previous appearances over the years as Daidí na Nollaig at Féile na Nollaig up at the School involved a garda escort by squad car and sirens that only added to the excitement and decibel level, he gave a lot of joy. John was such a lovely man and so proud of you all. As everyone’s stories and memories find their way to you, may they help you find solace in the grief. We are so sorry for your loss.
