I have fond memories of meeting him at many Joe Dolan Shows over the years all over the country and the Rhu Glenn whenever we were working there.
He was a wonderful gentleman and full of fun. I have kept contact with him over the years by phone and text and will miss his friendship.

I have fond memories of John, as a young lad, when he visited his aunt Mrs.Sheridan in Ummeryroe, many, many years ago, helping his cousin Pat on the farm. We lived next door to his aunt, we played with him and he often chased us with nettles. I followed his Funeral Mass on line. May he now Rest in Eternal Peace. Our sincere condolences to Bríd and family on the sad passing of John. He always spoke very fondly of Brid and his beloved family. In his work in the communications room Hi Mac mentored younger members with wisdom and common sense. On the phones he had the great ability to be able to courteously filter the chaff from the grain. He had a great sense of humour and fun. It was an honour and pleasure to have worked with John. He will be greatly missed by his family but you can take consolation from the fact that he commanded such great respect and admiration amongst his work colleagues. Rest peacefully Hi Mac.

My deepest sympathy to Brid and the family at this very sad time. Prayers have been offered for you all..John was a wonderful colleague at Waterford GS. I remember John buying Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson albums from
Sinnott record store back in the day, he loved Country music and Elvis and had all the updates on their music and lives and that was pre social media days of the early 80’s .
