Sincere Sympathy to Mary and Paul on the death of John. He had such a drole sense of humour. It was always a pleasure to meet him in the shop.

I've just learnt of John's passing and am so saddened. I worked for him for many years in the shop while in college and stayed friends with him after. He was such a gentleman and had a very kind heart. He had a quirky sense of humour and loved a bit of gossip!! May he RIP. I'm so regretful to have missed his funeral. He will be missed

Our deepest sympathy to Mary and family and his many friends. So sorry to have missed his funeral arrangements. I got to know John back in 1974 when I was servicing his cash register and calling for petrol.
He introduced me to some great spiritual writers, some of which I still have, and could even have been responsible for I going on to serve as a Deacon.
Many the conversation on church matters we had over the yesrs and even last week.

He was the first person, that I knew that had an electric bike, this was many years before they became popular.
He helped a lot of people in a quite way.
He never looked for praise or the limelight.
He left this life in a sudden way, but with no fuss, that is the way he would have wanted it to be.
He will be missed, fly with the angels John.

Mary and Paul, I’m so deeply sorry to hear of John’s passing. I am deeply shocked & saddened to learn of the sudden passing of John , deepest condolences to his sister Mary , brother in law Paul his aunt Eithne extended family & many friends.
I first got to know John when we both worked in Pretty Polly AKA Killarney Hosiery back in the early 1970s & later when I worked in Kiely's Electrical where we had many business transactions .
John also left Pretty Polly & went on to operate his own successful store & fuel station on the Muckross road where he worked extremely hard.
His store was open 7 days a week from early morning until late at night & when you went in John was almost always there.He was a tireless , successful & very honourable business man & was always a pleasure to meet & deal with.
He will be sadly missed & never forgotten especially by his Sister, relatives & all who came in contact with him & loved him.
May his gentle soul forever rest in eternal peace.
