John was a valued member of staff and a dedicated resourceful teacher who shepherded students in the acquisition of woodwork and construction skills,essential to their career paths and so useful in their daily lives. Whether visiting him in his workroom,or meeting him on the corridors or at the tea trolley in the staff room ,I was always given a warm friendly smile and an annual offer of a jar of honey from his own hives .
May the Lord ,his Shepherd,give him eternal repose.

Condolences to the Holland family on the sad passing of John. He was my woodwork/Construction teacher many years ago in BCS. He was very popular with all the students. It was a challenge to teach me woodwork as I hadnt much interest but he suceeded and we had a few laughs along the way. A proud Inniscarra GAA man.

I will always remember Mr. Holland as a very easy going man. Five words can sum him up he was of sound character. The Bible says when the eyes are sound the body is full of light. I have lots of good memories of him. He was my woodwork teacher forty years ago I still have some of the things we made in woodwork class and I will treasure and cherish them forever. I would never have been able to complete those projects if it was not for Mr. Hollands extreme patience and understanding. Thank you Mr. Holland and my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Holland and all the Holland family.
