John was a gent and a humorous one at that, many's the time when we would call to him selling some ticket or other for the club, his bright smile Would be the first thing to greet you at the door, and then the stories & hilarity started, truth be told, sometimes we forgot why we were there in the first place, and would be trying to make the sale and escape when another story or laugh would set him him off. !
