I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Hurley. I remember him as a kind gentleman and a good neighbour.
Fond memories of playing in the Hurley’s woods, playing dress up with Mrs Hurley’s lovely gowns, and the way Mrs Hurley could summon all the kids from her kitchen window by means of a whistle. They were happy times.

Our paths first crossed in 1982 when John was chairperson of the parents' council in Moyderwell Secondary school. I shall always remember him as one of the kindest, and most considerate human beings it has ever been my fortune to know. His unwavering support was immeasurable and deeply appreciated. John was an absolute gentleman in every respect....wise counsellor with a deep faith and has left the world a better place than he found it.
