John (Jack) Hegarty

We remember one day some fellows added a few hours onto his life.
{They did it by hiding his pipe and his tobacco.} they played a trick on him. Mr. Hegarty was all day looking for his pipe that day. He found his pipe in the end. We are vey sorry he died May he rest in Peace.

I worked with Jack in Scoil Eoin for over 20 years and have many great memories of our time together. He was a great man to start and finish a project- the children of Scoil Eoin have a beautiful playground thanks to Jack's endeavours. May Jack rest in peace.

I was a curate in Ballincollig from 1981-1988 and chairman of the Scoil Eoin NS for much of it. Jack Hegarty was a big influence in making it a pleasant place for staff and boys, the best learning environment. I am privileged to be able to say Mass for the happy repose of his soul, and the comfort of his wife Callie, his family, relatives and friends.
