Sincere Sympathies to John Joe's family, friends and neighbours on his sad passing to a better place. I will always remember John Joe from my early days attending meetings around South Galway. You knew you'd have to be in top gear if John Joe appeared, as he'd surely contribute in his eloquent tongue and hit the issue spot on. There was no sitting on the fence with John Joe, he said what he thought and that was that.
I loved the chat with him after the meetings, and you had no choice once you saw his shadow coming towards you, there was no escaping.

Our deepest sympathies to JohnJoe's cousins and friends. It was with great sadness we learned of JohnJoe's passing. The warmth we felt when we visited him was clearly shared by all who had the good fortune to meet and know JJ. We were proud to be related and my mam Sarah often recounted stories of visiting 'Uncle Micheal's' (JJ's father) with her sisters and brother when they were growing-up.
