John Joe or Mr. Silke's arrival in St. Jarlath's College coincided with the start of my 2nd year in Secondary school. Over the next two year he taught us the full Intermediate Certificate Commerce course. I loved every moment in his class. He introduced us to Trial Balances and delighted when we successfully achieved the reconciliation of accounts. I was delighted to be able to relate that to him on visiting him in Greenpark Nursing Home. His suffering on this earth is now ended. Suimhneas síoraí dá anam usail.
