John (Johnny) GEOGHEGAN

I was saddened and shocked to hear Johnny has passed away. He was a class-mate of mine in UCD: BE (Mech.) Class of ’85. John was a very friendly, funny and interesting guy and I always enjoyed his company. We travelled together to Russia, with the class, for New Year 1984-1985. It was then part of the Soviet Union. We learnt a lot, in Moscow and Leningrad, and hade good fun too. My condolences to Oonagh and all the Geoghegan family on your loss.

It is with great sadness I learned of Johns passing. I worked with John at PWAI for many years and it was John who guided my career while there. PWAI was a great company to work for, it was like that in no small part due to John.

My sincerest condolences to the family. I was really saddened to hear about John's untimely passing. John was a great aeronautical engineer and colleague. I have fond memories of working with John in Airmotive Ireland and in PWAI back in the day. I also recall John being an avid soccer fan and not too bad a player either. You know how much work John did for everyone in the School and particularly for children with an interest in athletics which is just one of the many reasons he is fondly remembered at this time.

Very sad to hear of the passing of John, had several chats with John and I would ask him how his treatment was going, John would always tell me about his daughters and his wife

It is with a sad heart that we write this today. John was a gentleman always and he will be sadly missed.

John's greatest gift was that he could always care. It's what defined him as a special human being, as a friend who was generous and warm, and as an athletics coach who had a great rapport with young developing athletes. Thank you for all dear John. Rest in Peace.
