Dear O’Brien Family,
Sending you all my deepest condolences. Johnny was a legend. I worked for him in O'Sheas many moons ago. Johnny was so warm, funny and kind. I still have so many fond memories of him from almost 30 years ago; he had such a big, Dublin humour, presence. You'll be in my thoughts. Rest in peace Johnny.

Dear O’Brien Family,
Sending you all my deepest condolences.
Johnny was one a kind with a huge heart, caring, compassionate and courageous.
Johnny and I would often catch up over a few drinks when he had a free evening off. We would walk around the old city of Nuremberg and he was known by so many!
People would always stop and say hello and he would take the time and talk to everyone he met, that was Johnny.
We always had great fun on our nights out and he always looked out for me. I have so many wonderful and funny memories of him.
He had a brilliant sense of humour and touched all of our lives, he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Many years ago my husband Ben and I spent a weekend with Johnny in Nürnberg. I've had a wonderful time; the warmth, the welcome, the fun. I often think of Johnny out of the blue.
We will raise a glass to him often, remembering the great man he was.
Rest easy, Johnny, you were one of the very best.
With love and deepest sympathy.

Sincere condolences to all of the O‘Brien family on the passing of Johnny.
I have such fun memories of our time working together over 30 years ago in Finnegans, later in O‘Sheas and whenever we bumped into each other in Nürnberg. To see his roguish smile, hear him ask in his Dublin accent „How‘re ya?“ and his genuine interest in my answer, always brought a smile to my face and a bit of home to Nürnberg. We used to always joke about being the two O‘Briens in Nürnberg.
Will miss you Johnny! Rest now in peace. xx

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to Catherine and Rudi and the extended O Brien family on the sad passing of Johnny , a kind and caring guy with a heart of gold , RIP Johnny
Deepest condolences to the O’Brien family. John and Mark were great school buddies and we spent lots of time as young kids roaming the neighbourhood. We spent lots of time in John‘s house because we had no TV so it was always off to the O’Brien‘s house to watch Starsky and Hutch and if we were lucky a little bit of Kenny Everest before Mrs O’Brien would come in and tell us to turn that trash off upon reflection. I think that was a good choice anyway John was a top look I don’t think you’d ever meet a kinder guy. He looked after us when we were in Germany.
Johnny was the kindest soul around Nuremberg, always a friendly face and a big smile to make you feel at home. My heart breaks for Johnny’s family at this time. Thinking of you all and sending strength.
Rest in peace Johnny.

Johnny,
You and the lads created an Irish embassy of your own in Nuremberg. You gave a space and a friendly face to many an expat on their travels or more a home. Nothing better than you pulling up a stool or a chair in Finnegans or o’Shea’s and talking shite with us.
It’s a sad day knowing we won’t get that opportunity again.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam and Up the Dubs!
