Sincere condolences to you and yours on the passing of your beloved Johnny,
I loved him dearly!
What a great character, full of wit and joy and a great man to trace, as he did with his young tenant, Margaret, in Sweetbriar when he told me who he knew in Killaloe, my home place, the bond was made between us and the rest is history. A real gentleman who loved you dearly Bridie and was so proud of you, Thomas and Maria! I know he adored his beautiful grandchildren and I’m sure he praised them in his many stories as he did about you both, Thomas and Maria, in his early stories to me when you were then in secondary school.
My heart and soul are with you all at this time, his photo brings me back to really happy times I enjoyed as a young teacher in Tramore! I write this condolences remembering Willie Moran, also, the other man who welcomed me to Tramore and who taught me how to be a good teacher and person. Like Willie, Johnny made me feel part of the beautiful tapestry of Tramore, made me feel that I belonged, a feeling never forgotten. One never dies while remembered.
