Will miss your wave out the window from johns bar as i passed walking most days . Rest in peace john . True Gent !!!

Our sincere condolences. John was a true gentleman. I (Dolf) have worked with John for years in Rathfredagh Cheshire Home and everybody loved John in Rathfredagh. I feel honoured to have known him. In November 2023, when we celebrated 60 years of Cheshire Ireland, the smoking sitting room was reopened as John's bar. He cut the ribbon himself and had the first pint. We have fond memories of John and will keep his memory alive.

Knocked about with Johnny and friends in the 70s.Always up for the crack.Saturday nights we always ended up at the Royal Cinema for the Mightnight Movie.One night during a showing of Dracula as the Bat appeared on screen Johnny released a pigeon causing uproar in the cinema.The lights went on and we were all evicted.For years afterwards when I would meet Johnny in the street we would both just burst out laughing without saying a word.Rest in Peace Pesh.

So very sorry to hear of johns passing, i had the pleasure of caring for john in Rathfredagh for 10 years, he loved to be the first up every morning bright eyed and full of joy on entering his room, we enjoyed singing My Way while getting ready, absolute gent and so positive and never said a bad word about nobody. Spoke very highly of wife Liz and the boys, my deepest sympathies to you all that knows john 🙏 heaven has another angel, RIP Johnny

Aww I am so sorry to hear the sad news. Often chatted with John in Rathfreedagh he loved the Beatles. Rest in Peace John.

I turn on my computer just now and am saddened so much regarding Johnny having passed away. What a remarkable man who could show us all how to treat everyone with nothing but a smile and a happy feeling.
Johnny and I were in St. Josephs industrial school together in the early 1960s and when we would meet for years after in Limerick I so much enjoyed his company and good humour.
The likes of Johnny do not come around too often and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to his' family.
The good news is that he is still around and will meet you all again.
Jesus died that we might live again.
