He worked tirelessly for many years as Chairperson of the Board of Management of Ard Scoil na nDéise, a pillar of support to several Principals. His contribution to the school was immeasurable, and his wisdom and kindness were greatly appreciated by those of us who had the honour of working with him. May John rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I have good memories of working with him in the good old days of the major national roads programme when the County Engineer was pivotal to that programme. He made an important contribution and was good company. RIP

I knew John O’ Flynn when I was serving as an elected member of Waterford County Council in the late 1990s and early 2000s. As County Engineer, John was a diligent and conscientious professional. Intelligent as regards his specialty and thoughtful in his approach as a Council official, John was a gentleman to work with and was everything that an excellent public servant should be. I was a member of Waterford County Council when John was appointed County Engineer. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him on a wide variety of matters. He was solutions driven and very thoughtful in his approach to problems.
