John Kavanagh

Willie, we are very sad to hear of John's sudden death. John was a true gentleman and brightened so many people's lives. We loved to meet him on our walks on Wicklow Head and have a chat. He always made time to have a little chat with Roxy too.

Our sincerest condolences on the loss of the lovely John. So very sad for all those that knew him. Our parents, Lilly and Michael O’Brien née Kavanagh, had much love, time and respect for him. We have such fond memories of visiting the farm. He was a total gentleman. Rest in peace with Miriam.

We said goodbye to a "one of a kind" member of our family yesterday. We watch the service on line which was a most peaceful and tranquil farewell.

Death is something inevitable. If a man has achieved what he considers his duty to this world, he can rest in peace. I believe John Kavanagh made that effort and has earned his eternal sleep.

To say farewell to a man that filled our hearts and our minds

As Mabel’s niece and my other cousins we spent many many weekends/summers and any opportunity we could got to go to johns, to pick potatoes(stones) make the sandwiches for the men sheering the sheep(granny Coogan supervised) lambing in January to have bigger lambs by spring, And even be given a pup to start training.
The memories I have are amazing.

And yes John was honourable awarded the best and most favourite Uncle in the family.
ALWAYS remembered NEVER forgotten.
